Why don't destroyer captains have to actually aim their torpedoes? Cruisers have to dodge incoming shells, battleships have to fire their shells with an insane amount of lead in front of the target, carriers have to be able to manual drop if they want to do well in a battle. Destroyers, especially IJN, get lazy and sit in smoke screens launching torps and firing whenever other ships are spotting for them. Just turn you ship to avoid the torpedoes. Now I know the counter argument, "Destroyers have weak armor and should have to spend as little time planning torpedo shots as possible. It's not as if other ships have cursors that tell them where to shoot, why don't destroyer players have to actually plan and aim their torpedoes when they launch at long range.
Honest question, why do destroyers have the grey track that gives the destroyer the best possible course to launch the torpedoes? It seems as though there's no skill involved, just launch and see what happens.
